MoDOTs Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program works to involve minority-owned, women-owned and disadvantaged businesses in the design and construction of state transportation projects. Under the program, MoDOT sets a goal for the percentage of work that the prime contractor must provide to DBE subcontractors. MoDOT helps DBE companies become certified and monitors DBE participation on major projects. The department also hosts networking opportunities for DBE companies to introduce themselves to area prime contractors and trains DBE owners in good business practices.
