Why is it that joe and josephine public have to work 40 years for an MBE yet civil servants get them easily?

Right then, answers svp.
Because it was negotiated years ago by the then civil service union in the mistaken belief that they needed something to reward them for doing their jobs. Funny, I thought that’s what they were paid for! The whole honours system is outdated, and brought into disrepute by Tony Blair awarding gongs for virtually nothing. We should either scrap it, or publish criteria for each award as to what would be required to achieve it. At least we would have both a level playing field, and eventually award holders who were actually worthy.

Because (Fact) most Civil Servants are fecking useless, they have to be given something to make them feel as if they are worth something to society…
Feel sorry for them and their wasted lives!

Because its all part of the deal for civil servants, when you take the job you ask if there is anything for you at the end of the job if there is you get it, got it.
