The noble order of the garter is pretty high, only 24 knights & a monarch. This may not be top but is possibly the oldest & most interesting.

OBE is higher it means Officer of the British Empire while an MBE is just a member. Peerages are different to honours (which is what an MBE is) although the sovereign can choose to honour a person who has served by offering a peerage but it’s more common to offer an honour in an order of chivalry. The ranks for that are (in highest to lowest) are The Order of the Garter (there is only ever 34 or 36 knights I can’t remember which), Order of the Thistle, Order of the Bath, Order of St. Micheal and St George and Order of the British Empire.

OBE [Order of the British Empire] is higher than MBE [Member of the British Empire].

Neither of them are peerages. A peer is a Lord. Those two are described as honours. The Order of the British Empire includes the following, from highest to lowest:

    GBE
    KBE
    CBE
    OBE
    MBE

GBE and KBE are knighthoods and so the title "Sir" goes with them – for that reason women are not awarded them and they are eligible for the honour of DBE and the title of "Dame" instead.

    Neither is a peerage.
    Officer is higher than Member.
    But, frankly, who cares.

OBE & MBE are the awards given to louts in entertainment, fast businessmen who haven’t been caught cheating on their taxes and retiring 3rd clerks in dusty old ministries.. Joke: OBE stands for "Other Buggers’ Efforts" while MBE stands for "My Bloody Efforts"
