Am I considered an ethic minority (Latino)?
Tuesday, February 14th, 2012Ok here’s a synopsis of my ethnicity.
Both of my parents were born in Argentina (hence of Latino origin). They immigrated to the United States 25 years ago and were granted US Citizenship.
I myself was born in the United States and currently reside in NJ.
English being a given, I also speak fluent Spanish and have assimilated many South American cultural facets.
In the manner more specifically set forth above, would I be considered a Latino ethnic minority?
The reason I ask is because I am pursuing Minority Owned Small-Business status for a business that I own.
When my state agency (in New Jersey) considers my application, will I be deemed a minority business owner?
Please feel free to ask any questions.
Thanks!

Is there a tax credit for women owned small businesses?
Friday, January 27th, 2012I am both female and disabled. In Oct of 2009 I started my own business. I have no employees and only work a few hours a week cleaning residential homes earning little income. I have been told that I am eligible for a tax credit based on the fact that I am considered a minority owned business. AARP will be doing my taxes this year as I can not afford to pay someone and I wanted to ensure I received all the credits I’m eligible for. Please share any information you have on the subject.
